Biodynamic Cranial Approach

A safe, nurturing, and non-manipulative Craniosacral Therapy priming an organic process of healing within your body to release patterns of stress. Any stressor - metabolic, physical, mental, emotional - interrupts healthy motion creating inertial patterns. BCA helps to maintain your internal resources and encourage optimal flow of life force and vitality by removing tension patterns.

Potency

My attuned touch contacts your body without disturbance. There is potency in the present moment, when this is embraced we uncover an intelligent and optimal response. You are invited to bring your awareness to all of your body and accept yourself just as you are. There is no need to ‘try’ to do anything, just be with what is.

It can help

Babies, youths, teenagers, adults, pregnant women & seniors - everybody.

You do not need a specific reason to experience Biodynamic Cranial Approach, it feels like coming home to your true essence. Some of the enhancements I have seen are:

Deepening Self Awareness; a curious exploration of our inner nature. Sense and listen to your own body wisdom. Motivation to attune to the forces of nature.

Stagnation; inspiration to bring change to your life and open channels of creativity and potential.

Vitality; supports the healing process of injury, illness, bodily aches and pains. Musculoskeletal imbalances can lead to fatigue, when fatigue outruns your body’s recovery system this imbalance can persist, worsening the tension patterns within your body.

Life Challenges; occasionally we are faced with serious set backs, such as life-threatening or terminal illness, relationship issues, separation or career challenges; if your world has been turned upside down or is spinning out of control BCA can support you to ground deeply into the seat of your own self, to build resilience, allowing you to move through difficulties with more ease.

Slow Down; a busy existence makes it difficult to find the time to practise mindfulness. Stress, worry and pressure stack on our shoulders making it difficult to fully relax and let go which can lead to overwhelm. BCA quietens the inner compulsion to ‘do’ and through presence of touch you can move through life more embodied in your own presence.

What to expect

Sessions commence with a conversation, followed by ‘laying on of hands’ as you lay (clothed) on a comfortable massage table. In a considered manner Rhiannon will place her hands gently on areas which may include your feet, legs, sacrum, belly, torso, spine, shoulders, hands, head or face. We move through the session in presence with open awareness.

Experiences

A session guides you to a state of relaxation, deepening into stillness, calming the fight, flight, freeze, fawn or fold response. Connecting with your breath deepens your present awareness. Changes range from subtle to profound. Unfurl vitality and nourishment, improved flexibility and fluid movement within your body and postural improvements.

Our bodies can store events that we are not consciously aware of. During a session holding patterns can be released from the body tissues without remembering the event from incidents such as knocks or falls from childhood, injuries, accidents, childbirth, discomfort and emotional reactions.

Lineage

Craniosacral Therapy has its roots back in the nineteenth century, originating in Andrew Taylor Still’s system of osteopathic medicine then subsequent pioneers of technique, Dr William Garner Sutherland, his student Dr Becker and his student Dr James Jealous. These original cranial concepts involving the relationship of the cranium to the spine and sacrum, have been refined and extended to become the Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy of today with an understanding that the body has its own inherent wisdom, accessible in stillness. This “Creative Intelligence’’ orders and organises the various layers of the human system and the biodynamic approach is a method whereby your therapist aligns to the embryologic forces that formed and continue to maintain the body.
